Cookies & Tracking
Last updated: April 28, 2026
Spotbee uses a small amount of data to make the website work and remember what matters to you.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files saved in your browser. They help the website remember things like your location on the map or your selected filters, so you don’t have to reset everything each time you visit.
Some cookies are essential. Others are optional.
How we use cookies
1. Essential (always on)
These are required for the website to function.
- Keep you logged in
- Secure your account and prevent abuse
- Keep the site stable as you browse
Without these, key parts of Spotbee won’t work.
2. Functional (your preferences)
These make the experience smoother and more consistent.
- Your last map location
- Filters (age, stroller-friendly, indoor/outdoor)
- Recently viewed places
You don’t have to start from scratch every time you return.
3. Analytics (anonymous usage)
These help us understand how the website is used so we can improve it.
- Searches and filters used
- Pages and places viewed
- General device type
No cross-site tracking. No personal profiling. No precise location history tied to you.
We look at patterns, not people.
4. Marketing (not used at launch)
We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies at launch. If we introduce sponsored listings or partnerships in the future, we will ask for your permission before using any marketing cookies.
Your choices
- Accept all cookies
- Reject non-essential cookies
- Customize your preferences
You can update your settings anytime using the “Privacy settings” link in the footer.
How long we keep data
- Essential cookies: session or short-term
- Functional cookies: up to 90 days
- Analytics data: short-term, then aggregated
We don’t keep unnecessary data longer than needed.
A simple rule we follow
If it doesn’t clearly improve your experience on Spotbee, we don’t store it.
